Meyerson Hall Lecture Hall

University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA

Meyerson Hall accommodates the University of Pennsylvania’s undergraduate and graduate School of Design and School of Fine Arts programs. Originally constructed in 1967, the building’s main lecture hall was in need of updated finishes and correction of ambient noise issues.

Flatiron performed the complete renovation of the lecture space on an accelerated 12-week summer schedule around the academic term. All new finishes included carpet, sheet vinyl flooring, and a floating ceiling system of faux-wood metal panels. A new HVAC system with special sound attenuation features and acoustic wall panels on the exposed brick walls help control noise. A sophisticated Lutron lighting system includes LED and fluorescent fixtures and controls for multiple light settings.

Testimonials:

“Flatiron did a superb job managing the coordination and scheduling of this complicated renovation, and was able to respond quickly and decisively to several unforeseen conditions, incorporating the additional work into the schedule without delays.”
