Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Operating Room

UPENN School of Veterinary Medicine, Philaldephia, PA

Flatiron Building Company mobilized a team for fast-track construction of a new Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) operating room for the University of Pennsylvania’s Ryan Veterinary Hospital, one of the nation’s busiest veterinary teaching hospitals.

In eight weeks from mobilization to completion, Flatiron performed work in the active surgery suite, where the crew and construction phasing were sensitive to ongoing hospital operations. Reinforced steel was added to support ceiling-mounted Berchtold surgical lights, and a clean-room suspended ceiling system was installed along with epoxy flooring and stainless steel convectors.

Testimonials:

“Flatiron worked with us to curtail costs and avoid additional ones while converting a conference room into a state-of-the-art, minimally invasive OR. And they did this all within an extremely tight timeframe and budget. The project was a huge success on all fronts.”
